Sky-Garden have also developed Green Walls or Living Walls, a unique and innovative system that provides eye level vertical greening and planting in conjunction with a structural and self sustaining support structure. Green walls offer improved biodiversity, aesthetics and energy efficiency.
Vertical green walls are an exciting development in sustainable construction and environmental engineering and provides a huge array of benefits to the urban landscape.
Sky-Garden recognised the limitations of simply growing climbers up a wall and instead has produced a revolutionary low maintenance independent green wall structure that as part of our professional green wall service can be used as a stand alone wall or can be secured to a building to provide the most unique and stunning façade to supplement the designers urban vision.
Our living wall is a steel mesh encapsulated system which is planted with robust, drought tolerant plants and shrubs including wild flowers and grasses if desired. Utilising a simple irrigation method (ideally using re-cycled water) the green wall will mature and develop to give all year round colour and interest and provide a vegetated habitat and green space without encroaching on or destroying valuable land. Living walls will require some regular maintenance.
