Sedum & Turf
Sedum
- Sedums are naturally found on exposed rocky terrain, making them resilient to extremes of weather.
- They hold a lot of water in fleshy stems and leaves, for the first year regular irrigation is recommended, however, once established, irrigation is only required during extended hot dry weather.
- We use 8 different sedum varieties that add year round interest and colour. Our sedum varieties are grown onto a biodegradeable coir blanket to a minimum of 70% coverage, we grow them on for 18 months before transferring the young plants to a Sky-Garden. The varieties used in our blankets have, overtime, proven their tolerance to shade and extremes of weather.
Turf
- Turf is better suited as part of an Intensive Sky-Garden with good access, providing a conventional lawn finish. However you will need to consider a maintenance schedule of mowing, weeding and irrigation. Turf requires deep soil, a minimum of 250mm.
- Turf with wildflowers sown throughout offers an alternative meadow finish.
