Greenfix Sky-Gardens developed Living Walls, a unique and innovative system that provides eye level vertical greening and planting in conjunction with a structural and self sustaining support structure. Living walls offer improved biodiversity, aesthetics and Energy efficiency.
Please note: living walls are often referred to as green walls, green walling, grass walls and grass walling.
Vertical walling is an exciting development in sustainable construction and environmental engineering and provides a huge array of benefits to the urban landscape.
Greenfix recognised the limitations of simply growing climbers up a wall and instead has produced a revolutionary low maintenance independent structure that can be used as a stand alone wall or can be secured to a building to provide the most unique and stunning façade to supplement the designers urban vision.
Our Living Wall is a steel mesh encapsulated system which is planted with robust, drought tolerant plants and shrubs including wild flowers and grasses if desired. Utilising a simple irrigation method (ideally using re-cycled water) the Living Wall will mature and develop to give all year round colour and interest and provide a vegetated habitat and green space without encroaching on or destroying valuable land. Living Walls will require some regular maintenance.

Featured here is the Living Wall we constructed adjacent to the O2 arena. At 75m long 5m tall its one of the biggest examples of vertical greening in the UK.
