Sky Garden attract new investor with eye to future

David Rutherford has joined the board of Sky Garden Greenroofs following his investment in the company this summer.

David originally trained as an accountant and was a career FD (ABF, Chloride, Plessey). In 1996 he put together an MBI (supported by 3i and Electra) for loss making Freightliner. Having run the company (T/O now c.£200m) as MD and turning the business around he sold it in 2005 for in excess of £100m.

Following this sale David formed his own investment vehicle (MCL) and now has interests in a number of unquoted companies where he also acts as a mentor/non-executive. He is a member of Enterprise 100 the commercial affiliation of London Business School.

"What attracted me to Sky Garden Greenroofs was the growth potential in the company and the market," said David. "I'm very excited by the product and developments in the greenroof sector and I look forward to working with the team."
