The UKs largest and greenest sustainable storage facility required a Greenroof to reduce the visual impact of the building on the landscape and to regulate the internal temperature. A drip irrigation system was installed to sustain the plants.

| Type of Development | To create a sedum and biodiverse hybrid roof to mitigate the visual appearance of the new distribution warehouse in its environment. A host of environmental/sustainable methods were used in the construction of the building. Local province wildflowers and wild grasses were grown on the roof to supplement the sedum and to blend more naturally with local flora over the mid to long term. |

| Details of Green Roof Element | Build up - Drainage layer using re-cycled, moisture retentive foam layer over the metal roof and in between the standing seems. Re-cycled crushed brick and aggregate including concrete and slate were laid over the foam prior to covering with pre-grown sedum and biodiverse blanket. |
| Comments | Feed back from the end user says "the temperature regulation within the building was a key issue and proved to be a great success" A comment from a leading green roof exponent said that the building blends really well and is an extremely successful build. "We experienced some problems carrying out the installation during the extreme temperatures in 2006 and lack of water for irrigation. As a result, sections of vegetation that had died off were replaced during cooler weather.
