Exchange Square has been described as a new urban village in the center of Birmingham, a significant new residential and lifestyle destination. Phase one of the development will include over 600 luxury apartments, a members’ club, a gym and a landscaped roof garden. A second phase will see a further 223 one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments and studios, making 826 new residences in total at Exchange Square. This new community will be supported by over 50,000 sq ft of leisure led retail space set around a vibrant new green public square.
Sky Garden’s brief was to create an urban amenity space on the roof which will beused as a popular communal area for the residents of the development. The podium (or roof garden) was installed on top of an IKO Permatec waterproofing system and at 1500 sqm, its said to be the largest podium space in Birmingham.
Our scope of work included the supply delivery and installation of:
Soft wood (Tanalised) sleeper planters,Drainage board and associated fleeces ,Sub-soils and topsoils, Multi stem trees with accessories and vegetation,Hedging, individual rootball specimens.
Soft wood sub-frame and composite decking, artificial turf and sub-bases, bespoke timber seating, pin kerbs used as interfaces, Tobermore Paving, Inspection Chambers.
